Legendary track builder Joey Christensen of ‘The Dirt’ fame announced that he will be making the trip to Sweden in early May to build a brand new 1/8th Offroad track for the Tomelilla club in southern Sweden – readers may remember this club hosted the EOS pilot event a couple of years ago in an indoor facility, this 1/8th track will be outdoors. As with Joey’s past exploits with the indoor facility IBR Padova in Italy, he’ll be returning in 2014 to stage the first ‘Swedish Nitro Challenge‘ – the first event since the 2004 Worlds that may attract some true international interest & attendance back to Sweden.
We’re told that Tomelilla’s outdoor track will be 75m x 50m in size (245ft x 165 ft) with a brand new drivers stand set to be constructed as well using two 40ft containers.
