Reigning World Champion Robert Batlle announced today that his two-year relationship with fuel sponsor Merlin has come to an end. Batlle originally joined Merlin back in January 2011 and in the time with the Spanish outfit continued his amazing run of Spanish national titles and delivered a European Championship win in 2011 as well as the ultimate goal – a World Championship – last year in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Since his Worlds win, Robert has had a busy couple of months – starting his own online RC store, named after him – RBR36.com – aimed at the Spanish market mainly and offering his support and expertise, we caught up with Robert who said he would like to thank Merlin for their service and support over the last two years together.
Robert offered no clues as to which fuel would be powering him for the rest of 2013… perhaps a return to the Nitrolux brand that he used previously, given his close relationship to Marc Ibars’ Modelix, Ultimate Racing, ProCircuit family of companies that all support him although given his status as World Champ he won’t come cheap!
